The factory paint from Mrs McMike’s wheels has worn, and has started to rust a bit.
These seven spots on each wheel really stand out to me on this otherwise clean 12 year old car.
Wire wheel, wash, dry, primer and flat black later, and I’m happy.
One down, three to go.
While waiting for the each coat to dry, I cleaned the bottom of the mini’s engine to track down a small oil leak.
NOW LEAK! I’M READY!

Deck of playing cards from here
They are free with purchase, and we have several decks to spare.

Bastards, we never get anything free in my state. Well the occasional one dollar children’s fireworks but nothing else.

How did they wear on these bits? I’ve never come across that before. Do you regularly use a drive through mechanical car wash?

We wash the car by hand.
I’m assuming it’s 12 years of salt/sand/dust, since it only happened on the exposed part

That’s what’s got me. I would expect a little wear, where the plastic gets knocked or rubs on the wheel surface.
Very strange.
